JDM Revolution

While we didn't show at this event (we only got the word a few days  ago) several of the NorCal crew droped by to take take pictures. The show it self needed some better organization, there were too few cars and the models didn't look to be having a good time. But hey it was a way to kill a very nice Sunday afternoon. So now here are the photos.... Oh ya, I didn't shoot all the cars, or post all the pictures, just the ones I liked that came out ok.

Japan trip 08 plus Fuji Speedway Super GT race

I got luckey, very luckey. A good frind of mine, Tome, has some contacts in the Super GT world. So when I went over to Japan in the first part of May 2008 he hooked me up. I was a guest of the AVANZZA ROSSO 楽天BOMEX 320R race team. You can find the pictures in our gallery. I will also be doing a full write up of our trip over there, but for now, just enjoy the Super GT pictures!

Taken from Norcalevo.net: Matt Steele's track day. biggrin.gif

Matt Steele.

WOW, what an awesome day! It was really cool getting to hit the track with everyone yesterday, and we had a very cool crowd out there. Xtreme Car Chess FTW! It was too funny jumping on and off track so I could give tons of people rides...really puts a fresh perspective in to just how much fun it can be out there.

As for my times, I honestly couldn't be happier. I'd love to say it is all driver, but there's just no way. The Evo that GST Motorsports and Speed Element have put together is just a damn beast. Adding Muellerized to the mix, and going out on the new Moton setup with some good Rcomps, took the car to a whole new level of speed out there.

Now for the bad news...was actually ready to weep last night. All that awesome stuff on track and the nut behind the wheel was too loose...somehow didn't push the damn CF card in all the way so none of the G2X data came out! It absolutely kills me not to be able to look it back over, but at least I do have some great vid to review (and to verify my time LOL). I used just before the final line as a reference point.

Here's the link to the youtube version, but I'll see about getting a full-sized version hosted somewhere.

Couple high/lowlights of the video:

- Totally choked Turn 1 because a) someone was coming out of the hot pits, and cool.gif I still continually choke turn 1 anyway.

- Turn 5 is still turn 5 for me...can't seem to carry enough speed over there.

- Turn 9 is my turn 1 deja-vu...still not carrying enough speed through there.

- Bouncing off the rev limiter heading down to 10. (need to get Bryan to raise that bad boy up to 8K)

- Bouncing off the rev limiter in to Turn 14 (damn you Paul Langlie and your taller 4th...Bryan, let's go to 8.5k)

- Bouncing off the rev limiter out of Turn 15 (nobody to blame but myself LOL)

- Little 'Han Solo jumping to light speed' woohoo as the time pops up on the G2Xlaugh.gif

Socal Rally X Glen Helen II Results

From EvuseIX/Larry

Well, last Sunday was a blast. The course was much wider and Evo friendly. I also learned a lot from my car, the way it handles, the correct way of caressing those corners and blasting out on the exits rolleyes.gif . Too bad the car that broke down during the event was an Evo but nonetheless we held our ground.

Here are the results:

http://www.formularallyx.com/glenhelen2/GH2_2K8.pdf

I'm 4th in my class (SM4). Not too shabby considering I am not far behind last years Champion Phil (EVO VIII). I'm 18th overall because I missed an event but oh well. Next one is coming up in 3 weeks and according to the organizers, we are going to have a little splash included in the course. Time to make sure I have serious protection underneath.

I love my new tune especially with the gas mixture that Rally Innovations put in my car. The car boosted like it had no lag. I was able to hit 4th gear for 2-3 seconds when everyone was saying they barely hit 3rd.

Vince and Diego, thanks again for the parts. Ariel thanks for the ride on your X to pick up those parts, lol.

I'm still waiting on the other guys to post pics but here are a couple and a video from the Evo VIII guys that brokedown

Photo Shoot at Alameda NAS

With the weather being absolutely beautiful the last few days, and Paul/Misred getting his car back, we felt it was time for a photo shoot.

This was a last minute deal, it was planned about 11pm the night before, but the turn out was quite large. For Emperors and Non-Emperors alike it was a chance to show of all the hard work from the winter and to check out the new gear everyone else had.

So follow the link to see some of the picture that I have grabbed from NCE and abroad.
